G3 2.2 - August 29th, 2009
Well, there's no rest for the weary convention planners! We've already got the next date for G3 set. So anyone wanting to volunteer for events should let us know. We'd like to have the lineup ready to display within the next 6 weeks. So mark your calenders folks! August 29th!

This is great news. Do we discuss the schedule here? Or do you want me to PM you with the information?

Events
I sent an email requesting info on putting on an event and have heard absolutely nothing back.
I guess the events must all be full.

I would like run a game. I ran my 1/72d fantasy stuff last time. I am hoping to have a dungeon crawl with my 1/72d fantasy figures.

What's TRWNN? I do like the Old West era. I've got Gutshot, but haven't had an opportunity to get a game in, yet.
I'll see what slots are available so we can get you in.

Thanks, I appreciate it. TRWNN stands for The Rules with No Name. Bryan Ansell of the Foundry wrote them. I am told that they are similar to Necromunda and Kill Teams in their form.

Ah, I know those rules. I wasn't thinking that deep when I was asking the question. I'm waiting for some info from the scheduler, and I'll get back to you and the other two gentlemen patiently waiting.

I'll have the schedule listings on Monday, for all three of you. What I need is for you to PM me with the particulars - who you are, what game you're wanting to run - and we'll get you on the list. Thanks for your patience while we get this game schedule figured out.

G3 2.2 Aug
Matt has agreed to run BattleTech again for G3. He's actually now (after much work and a little string pulling) a Catalyst Game Labs' Commando (actuall now we're called Demo Team Members...which isn't what I would have done because Commando is cool and CDT isn't....but what the hey).
Matt will be getting in touch with you to set the schedule or I'll get in touch with you once the schedule has been set.
=======================================
On a different note: Is Car Wars going to be run again? I've picked up a bunch of things for Car Wars and wass thinking of hosting the Gurps RPG version of Car Wars and then during that RPG do the "Mission" for the players but it'd probably have to be set up like Thunder Road where the track moves as the players move across the gaming space. I figured I'd put rolling map on a cart with casters so we could roll it around the game room. Like a real race. And then have obsticles at set intervals. I'm hoping Charles would be interested in helping...if not then I'm willing to run the whole car wars event. I'm also planning on giving away a $100.00 Best Buy gift certificate to the race/event winner. Should get some players interested.

Re: G3 2.2 - August 29th, 2009
I'd be up for FedCom. As far as a Bloodbowl tourney goes, I know that there's a good following of it in the DFW area, so it could draw in more folks, but I haven't played a game (strange, I know since I painted up a team for it at the first G3).

Re: G3 2.2 - August 29th, 2009
I like them all three, but I would have to paint up some figures to play in a Blood Bowl tourney and my painting table is full. Warmaster and FedCom are both enjoyable game to play. The last game of Fed Com I played at G3 was a blast.

No way I can get as lucky as I did in that last Scavenger hunt, but I am willing to try.

Car Wars Update
I've obtained the casters I need for the moving Car Wars event.
I'll have the cars this weekend and start building the track.
I'll start a Car Wars thread to discuss it. I figure that the turn out for the Car Wars event might be low so I'll also have the Solo Rules available (If I can find them in my collection) for those that want to participate but don't have an opponent.

Karl, let's think about running it as a mid-day event. I believe we may get a better gamer count if we do.

Mid day event...as in 5-10? That could work. If we did that I could run a Mech Warrior event from 1-4. Humm....that has merrit. What do you think about that? I'm sure we'll have a great turn out for Car Wars...I'm offering up a $50.00 Gas Card to fuel the car of the winner OR Car Wars product...their choice. I'm also planning on making it clear that the for there to be a winner we need a minimum number of participants. I'd hate to give away a prize like that to a person just for being there and not having competed.
